Janene was one of my dearest friends. We met in 1987 and our friendship grew through the years. We helped each other through life’s joys and struggles. No matter what was going on with either of us – we always found a way to laugh. We had a very special connection. We used to give each other little presents for no particular reason whatsoever – mostly earrings, necklaces, scarfs. My second most favorite present that Janene made for me was a turquoise colored scrubber that she crocheted. When she first gave it to me, I was a bit surprised – it was quite a bit different from our typical gifts. As it turns out, I use it all of the time and it is one of the best and useful gifts I have ever received. However, I must tell you that my favorite gift of all from Janene was her friendship. It was warm and fun and unending. I will miss our lunch dates. She will be in my heart forever. Wendy Katz
